Frequently asked questions

Short answers on how Clarito works, where your data lives, and how licensing and payment work.

General

What is Clarito?
Clarito is a desktop accounting and e-invoicing app for Romanian businesses and accountants. It runs locally on your own computer, with no cloud.
Which systems does it run on?
Windows and macOS. It installs locally and you can work without a cloud account.
How do I start the 30-day trial?
Download and install the app, then start the free 30-day trial from within the app. No card required.
Is Clarito approved by ANAF?
ANAF runs no certification programme and publishes no list of approved accounting software — no vendor can be “officially approved”. What matters is that the submitted file is valid: Clarito produces e-Factura in UBL 2.1 CIUS-RO format and validates declarations locally with DUKIntegrator (ANAF's official tool) and XSD before anything is sent to SPV.
Does Clarito work offline?
Yes. Bookkeeping, invoicing and preparing declarations all work without an internet connection, because the app and your data live on your computer. You only need to be online to actually submit to SPV, to fetch ANAF messages, and for updates.
Which declarations can I prepare in Clarito?
D300, D390, D394, D112, D100, D101, D205 and D207, plus SAF-T (D406) and e-Transport (UIT). All are validated locally before filing.

Data & security

Where is my data stored?
All accounting data stays 100% local, in a SQLite database on your computer. As the site operator, we have no access to it.
How do backup and restore work?
You back up and restore locally from the app. The backup file stays on your computer or your own storage.
What if I change computers?
Install Clarito on the new machine and reactivate your licence there. The old machine still takes a seat on your licence until you free its seat from your account. You move the backup yourself, and support helps if you need it.
How does Clarito handle GDPR?
Accounting data never leaves your computer. You can export and delete your data in the app anytime, and for your site account you can request export or deletion by emailing support.

Licence & payment

How do I get my licence key?
After payment you receive the key by email and find it in your site account. Enter it in the app to activate it. One activation means one computer, and the same key covers several: 2 devices on Solo, 5 on Accountant, 10 on Firm.
How many companies can I manage?
You can manage several companies in the same install. The number depends on your plan. See the pricing page for details.
How does renewal work?
The licence is annual. You get a reminder before it expires and can renew to keep receiving updates and support.
How do I pay and get an invoice?
Payment is handled securely through Stripe. We don't store card details. You get a VAT invoice for every payment.
Is Clarito free?
No, but you can try it free for 30 days with every feature and up to 3 companies, no card required. After the trial, Clarito is a monthly or annual subscription, priced by how many companies you manage.
